The new Vango Avington Flow Air 500 is unlike anything Vango have done before. They have really made an effort to redesign their normal Avington tent by increasing the ventilation and making it more comfortable in hotter weather. The Avington Flow is available in a poled and air version, so you can pick and choose whether you prefer to keep it traditional or move with the Air-volution. The key feature to the Avington style is an open canopy to keep the rain out and provide some shelter for cooking underneath. With the canopy depth being 85cm there is enough coverage to leave the mesh panel shut even on a rainy day so there is no compromise between airflow and being waterproof. As the tent is inflatable it is very quick and easy to pitch, as seen from our Attwoolls Pitching & Packing Videos.

The Flow 500 has the ability to sleep up to 5 people but personally we feel it is more a comfy 4 berth, or - if you really like your space - a 2/3 berth. Not only does the front and side door have mesh, but there are also two more mesh points at the back of the tent as well, so when the weather heats up you can stay cooler. The front entrance door drops down to give trip free access into the tent for push chairs and wheel chairs alike. The same door can also be opened up half way to create an area perfect to have a table and chairs in. On the other hand, you can fully bring the outside in by zipping the door back completely and opening yourself up to the elements.

The Avington Flow features Nightfall Bedrooms to reduce early morning light and hopefully allow you (and the kids!) to sleep in for longer. Storage pockets can also be found in the bedroom compartment to keep items nice and tidy while a divider splits the bedroom section in half to give an element of privacy between you and the kids. As the Tent is made from Vango’s Experience fabric, the pack size and weight are nice and compact. The 70D material has a waterproof rating of 3000mm HH, so is more than capable of coping with the British weather.

Overall, the Avington Flow has been designed to be a lightweight family tent with as much breathability as there is possible for a polyester tent, as well as quick to pitch thanks to the Airbeam technology.
