The Winwood 8 Tent is Outwell’s largest tent in their ‘Select Collection’ and features an extra bedroom compartment in the front awning to accommodate extra guests. Overall, the tent has three zones; Sleeping, Living & Awning which allow you to create a home away from home. An enclosed front awning creates a perfect wet/dry area for cooking or storing shoes. An ample living area can be opened up into the awning section to increase your space under cover and a dark bedroom section should hopefully mean you get a longer night’s sleep.

Outwell’s Winwood has features that you wouldn’t find in poled tents from other brands; such as zipped dividers between the bedroom compartments and Outwell’s own HookTrack System to give you the option to have a hanging point for lights or storage pockets throughout the tent. Another key feature is the full-frontal mesh door which gives a bug free barrier and allows airflow into the tent while the integral front canopy obstructs the rain from coming in.

The tent is quick to pitch and can be done by one person on their own if needed. The Winwood 8 uses Outwell’s Duratec fibreglass poles which are stronger than most over brands poles while remaining lightweight. This is because Outwell have wrapped their poles with an additional layer in an attempt to increase stability. Not only does the tent come with high-vis guylines, but also ‘Storm Ties’ Velcro around the poles to make sure the fabric and poles are tensioned together. The tent also has multiple large PVC windows to allow plenty of light into the tent and visibility out; below the window are toggle up curtains to get privacy when needed.

As the tent sits in Outwell’s ‘Select Collection’ the tent is made from a Outtex 4000 polyester material which is lightweight but durable. A sewn-in groundsheet keeps the tent nice and dry while also keeping the wind out. Low level ventilation panels are situated beneath the windows and above the back bedroom to help reduce condensation and increase air flow.
