The Vango Osiris Air 500 is one of the most functional weekend tents available, compact in size and has tons of features it really is an option which can’t be ignored. The Osiris has been based on the classic Icarus tent but with quite a few modern features, the most important of which is the rain safe canopy over the side door, this allows you to access the tent without letting the weather in with you. Arguably, this is one of the best vented tents in its range as not only do you have low & high level ventilation panels, but both entrances have full mesh doors, this really helps to keep those warm days cooler and bug free. The cherry on the cake is that the tent uses Vango’s new Eco fabric which is made entirely from single use plastic, so rather than the plastic going to waste it can now be made into tents. The Osiris is very easy to pitch (as seen from out Attwoolls Outdoors Pitching videos), the whole tent can be pitched by one person within 8 minutes making it perfect for weekend trips as well as those longer stays.

Vango’s Earth Collection has been designed to be environmentally friendly and durable, the entire range is made from single use plastics and every tent has an equivalent plastic bottle total to help show what Vango can create from just a small amount of waste. The Eco fabric has a waterproof rating of 3,000mm HH and UV protection factor of UPF30+, if this wasn’t enough the fabric also has ColourLok which aids colour retention from UV light.

The Osiris Air has a varied number of features such as Dark ‘Nightfall Bedrooms’ to stop you waking up when the sun does, two mesh doors leading out of the living area which helps to keep insects out. Vango’s Villa Construction beams not only make it easy to inflate but roomy as the upright side walls increase height and allow furniture to be moved closer to the edge of the tent. Crystal Clear windows allow plenty of light into the tent while toggle up curtains give privacy as and when needed.

Overall, we feel the Vango Osiris Air 500 is perfect for small families who don’t want to compromise on spec but do care about quality.
